About Troop 48

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Troop 48 was founded on June 30, 1929 for the purpose of providing young men with fun activities while teaching them to be good citizens who are strong in character and are physically fit. These four attributes are as valuable today as they were during the Great Depression.

The Troop has met in five locations throughout Memphis, Whitehaven and Germantown, Tennessee and has provided direction for more than 1200 Scouts. During that time 58 of them have become Eagle Scouts.
