Troop 48 90^th Anniversary Celebration – August 17 – Purchase your $10 tickets by this Tuesday

Our troop is having its 90^th anniversary this year, and we will celebrate with friends and alumni on August 17^th. See the attached letter for details and the ticket order form. A BBQ dinner will be served, led by our own Richard Ralph and his Serial Grillers BBQ team. Tickets are $10 per person if purchased prior to August 8^th, $15 per person after August 8 – HOWEVER, WE ARE EXTENDING THE $10 TICKET PRICE TO THE TROOP ONLY UNTIL TUESDAY, AUGUST 13.  After August 13^th, tickets will cost $15 each. We would like everyone from the Troop to plan to attend this event, so please mark this on your calendars and purchase your tickets from Kim Ridenhour. Scout Bucks may be used.

 

August $25 Campout Fee due Tuesday

Our next campout will be August 23-25 at Lake Ouachita, and the $25 campout fee is due this Tuesday to our scribe, Sehrab Bagha. Please sign up and pay by Tuesday. The weekend will be all about fun water activities – kayaking, fishing and swimming. Kayaking and fishing skills will be taught to those interested. We will have multiple kayaks and fishing poles if you don’t have your own.  The August camping trip is open to anyone regardless of swimming ability. The park's swim area is attached to our campsite and we will use the BSA's Safe Swim Defense protocol to ensure the safety of all participants in the water activities.

Attached is this month’s advancement report. Please check to see if your record is up to date, and please see Mrs. Vietzke with your BSA Handbook if there are any updates to be made.

 

Volunteers Needed

We need some parents and Scouts to volunteer to help clean up after the Troop Anniversary 90th Anniversary Celebration on August 17. We will need to take down all chairs and tables, sweep the floor, then run the floor cleaning machine and set up the chairs for the Sunday morning church service.  We also need some volunteers to help set up tables and chairs on either Saturday morning 8/17 or Friday night, 8/16. If you can help with either of these, please let Kim Ridenhour know.
