Troop 48 Update - 11/27/2023

Posted on Mon, Nov 27, 2023

Troop Service Project – Tuesday, December 5 at 5:30 PM

Instead of a troop meeting, we will be delivering Christmas food baskets on Tuesday December 5, starting at 5:30 PM. If you can help as an adult driver, please let Mrs. Laura Trott know.

Awards Court of Honor and Christmas Party and Potluck – December 12 at 6 PM

We will be holding our December Court of Honor and Troop Christmas Party Potluck on Tuesday, December 12 at 6 PM, so please plan to attend with your family. Scouts will have a gift exchange: each Scout who wants to participate will need to bring a wrapped gift with a value of not more than $25. We will have a potluck dinner, please sign up for what you will bring at the link below. If you are not bringing a meat dish, please consider signing up for two items. Please note the earlier start time at 6 PM, not 7 PM.

No Troop Meetings for Holiday Break

There will be no troop meetings on Tuesday, December 19th and 26th and January 2nd. Weekly meetings will resume on Tuesday, January 9th.

Items for Sale

Mr. Issing's sister and brother-in-law moved to Collierville in July. (Two of our Scouts made some money on move-in day.) They are now empty-nesters as their youngest son, at the last minute, chose to stay in Montana instead of moving. That being said they moved two large items which they no longer need. They are a hand-made cedar chest and a Haier brand chest freezer. They are willing to take any best offer with the proceeds going to the troop. Below are the items:

• A hand-made cedar chest on wheels with a hinged-top. It was made for his mother in 1952, by her uncle, as her trousseau chest. Without any daughters, she wants to see this find a good home.

• A seven cubic foot Haier brand chest freezer. It is in running condition but has some small dents on the outside. It is very clean on the inside. Without sons living at home, they no longer need the extra freezer space.

Photos are attached of each item. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Issing within the week. Please see the Troop Roster file for his contact information.
