Camporee Practice

Camporee practice will be this Saturday, February 7 from 9 am – Noon at the Ralph Moak garage. All Scouts are expected to attend. Bring a water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather (uniform not required). If you have a conflict and cannot attend, please let your patrol leader know. The next practice will be March 7th.

*IMPORTANT*- Awards Court of Honor – February 10th

All Scouts and their families are invited to attend our Awards Court of Honor this Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the chapel. There are several things due that night, so here is your checklist on what to bring (Be Prepared):

· Spaghetti supper tickets & money – Each Scout received 8 tickets ($8 each). Please turn in all unsold tickets and money for tickets sold to Eric Hube.

· Washington DC trip information – If there is any chance that you will attend the DC trip this summer, please bring the following information to Mr. Hormberg in writing (do not email SSNs): First name, middle name, last name, date of birth, Social Security #, Citizenship, Country of citizenship if other than U.S.A., City/State of residence. (see more details below regarding the trip)

· Skymont deposit – the first deposit for summer camp is due - $75 for Scouts and $30 for adults.

· February campout fee due – if you plan to attend the February 20-22 campout, please pay $25 and sign up.

· Refreshments – bring refreshments if you volunteered with Mrs. Eddleman (Phoenix & Pythons patrols).

60th Annual Spaghetti Supper – February 13th

Unsold tickets and money for tickets sold is due February 10th to Eric Hube. If a Scout sells 8 tickets, then his meal is free. We need Scouts to be there at 4:00 pm on the 13th in uniform, and we need all parents to help out. Parents, please let Eric Hube know how you would like to help - cook, set-up, work the drive-thru, etc.  We also need each family to provide a dessert on the 13th. The time for the dinner is 5 pm – 7 pm, and we will have a drive-thru open from 4:30 – 5:30 pm.

Washington DC Summer Adventure – July 11 -18th

On July 11th, Troop 48 will depart for our Nation’s Capital.  In order to make plans, get security clearances and set budgets we need to know who will be going as soon as possible.  An initial deposit of $100 is due on or before February 24th. The total costs are still being determined, but will not be more than $300 per person. We still need more adults to go on the trip, so let Mr. Hormberg know if you are interested. In addition, we need personal information so the Secret Service can conduct background checks prior to our visit to The White House.  If you and/or your son is planning to go, please provide the following information in writing (not email) to Mr. Hormberg as soon as possible: First name, middle name, last name, date of Birth, Social Security #, Citizenship, Country of citizenship if other than U.S.A., City/State of residence.

New Scouts and New Committee Members

Please join us in welcoming new Scouts Elliot Ragland and Josef Lee to our Troop! We also want to thank and welcome Elliot’s dad, Rob Ragland, who has joined the Troop Committee, and thanks also to Shelley Carroll, who has also joined the Troop Committee and agreed to serve as Secretary.

Skymont Summer Camp – June 6-13

The first deposit of $75 for Scouts and $30 for adults is due February 10 at the Awards Court of Honor. More information about summer camp will be provided at that meeting. The total cost will be $200 for Scouts and $80 for adults. The Troop is subsidizing $60 per person from the Campership fund toward registration fees, transportation and food costs.

Chickasaw Council Awards Banquet – March 26

Our Eagle Scouts Josh Albert and Kyle Ralph will be honored at the Chickasaw Council Banquet on March 26th. It will be held at the Catholic Church of the Incarnation in Collierville, beginning at 6:30 pm. If you are interested in attending and purchasing a ticket for the banquet, please let Mr. Issing know.
