Troop 48 Update - 12/27/18

Posted on Thu, Dec 27, 2018

REMINDER – There is no regular Troop meeting on January 1

Conservation Service Project on Saturday, January 5

Beginning with Tenderfoot, all ranks require between one and six hours of service (6 hours with a minimum of 3 conservation hours for the rank of Life).  In addition, several merit badges also have service hour requirements. On Saturday, January 5th the troop will be doing a conservation project at Pinecrest Retreat & Conference Center, located in La Grange, TN.  A hot lunch will be provided by the Scoutmaster Corps. This is a great opportunity that isn't available often AND we will have a great time doing it. If you can attend please RSVP to Mr. Hormberg  and Mr. Issing at your earliest convenience so we can plan the work and Mr. Issing can plan our meal. We will likely need a driver or two - if parents are available please let us know.

Philmont Trip Dates for 2020

Assistant Scoutmaster Bo Hormberg has secured dates for a high adventure trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. The 12-day expedition will arrive at Philmont on 6/21/2020 and will depart Philmont on 7/3/2020. Scouts need to be 14 years old OR 13 years old and completed 8th grade by 6/21/2020. A crew can be 8-12 people, with a minimum of two adults. This is an exciting opportunity for an life-changing experience at one of Scouting’s premiere high adventure bases. If you are interested in attending this trip, please contact Mr. Hormberg (bo.hormberg@gmail.com) soon, as there are several deposits due and advance preparation for the trip.
